Throwback Thursday Smirnoff Halloween

For Throwback Thursday, I wanted to take look at Halloween advertising since we are so close to the holiday. I found this Smirnoff ad, which screams retro (because it’s from 1968). I think holiday advertising in general allows for a lot of creativity, but for a holiday like Halloween, it allows for a lot of fun with a lot of forgiveness mixed in. Can you still hide behind a holiday to amp up the edginess in your ads? What can you get away with in today’s culture? One thing is for sure, brands continue to embrace the opportunity to tie in with a milestone, and try their best to deliver on the theme with wit
