Readers include; commercial farmers, crop, and livestock, timber & tree farmers, horse owners and breeders, landscapers, beekeepers, weekend farmers, serious gardeners, and homeowners. The sale of livestock and livestock products account for roughly 80% of the income generated on Alabama farms, with sales of crops accounting for the remainder. 

The states leading agri-business is forestry, chief crops are greenhouse and nursery products, peanuts, and cotton.
