Founded in 1996 as a small newspaper for the Acres Homes community in Houston, African-American News & Issues is a free publication, which became Texas' widest circulated and read newspaper with an African-American perspective. With a statewide distribution of 200,000, African-American News & Issues distribution area includes the counties with the largest African-American populations in Texas.
