Paid Intern Position

The Specialist Works US is looking for students who wish to learn more about the world of media and advertising. Our company is the US branch of an international company based in London who specializes in advertising through various channels including print, broadcast, television, digital, and public relations.

Interns will be developing a working understanding of the print media advertising world, the function of our company in that arena, and the role each member of our team plays. By the end of the internship, he/she will be a functional member of the team, able to do tasks without supervision. Interns will be asked to pursue media leads, evaluate the value of different forms of media buys, and handle client services. All learning is supervised and hands-on. Interns will build new orders and update outstanding contracts. We will walk them through the entire process of finding new media opportunities and adding them to our computer database. They will be taught how to utilize demographic analysis, historical usage, competitor activity and media availability to best determine when and where ads should be placed. Interns will be taught how to develop a media plan for real life clients. This involves evaluating past efforts, seeking out new possibilities, and projecting for our clients’ future business growth. Some of our current clients include Graze, HelloFresh, Charles Tywrhitt, The White Company, and Boden. Interns will also be required to maintain and update the content of the media side of our company data system and blog. This includes social media and writing creative content for our website.
