Our Blog
Our goal in posting our blogs is three fold: To introduce timely industry news that is relevant to our clients; to post items we find interesting and entertaining, and finally, to give you a glimpse of TSW US “Behind the Curtain”. We take the business aspects of what we are doing very seriously, but we like to have fun, hopefully that shines through here.
Our Blog is a puzzle being assembled. Sometimes the individual pieces of the puzzle don’t look like the whole picture once completed – You have to keep adding pieces one at a time to make the image clear. We hope you keep coming back to see how the TSW US puzzle takes shape.

Cocktail Friday Toothpick Swan
It is Cocktail Friday at Elarbee Media, and today we selected a toothpick swan from out vintage cocktail collection to show you. Part of the art of a throwing a good cocktail party is supplying your guests with a nosh to go with their drink. These vintage birds were used to hold cubed cheese, olives, cherries, and anything else you could stick on a toothpick.
We think this beauty would look great with some blue cheese stuffed olives to go into our Saturday morning (medicinal) Bloody Mary's.
Throwback Thursday Grab a Cold Heiney!
It is Throwback Thursday again at Elarbee Media, and keeping on this week's theme of quotes we found a vintage 1960's ad from Heineken. We love the catch phrase "Grab a Heiney" and in this ad they even add the word cold and match the image to the edited phrase. LOVE it!
It is humorous, memorable and really would work as well today as it did in the 1960's.
Wit & Wisdom Wednesday - AA Milne on More for Less
“It was Lord Northcliffe who killed the penny dreadful: by the simple process of producing a ha’penny dreadfuller. “ A. A, Milne
It is Wit & Wisdom Wednesday at Elarbee Media, and this week we are quoting A.A. Milne of “Winnie the Pooh” fame. Milne is referring to the founder of Britain’s The Daily Mail, Lord Northcliffe, and his business acumen in producing what the public wanted; more and for less money.
Some things don’t change. The appetite for “more for less” is more prevalent now than ever. As an advertiser it is imperative to not only sell the “discount”, but to highlight the product benefits. Price is only half of the equation.
Art Tuesday Quote Obsessed
It is Art Tuesday at Elarbee Media and today we wanted to highlight this new piece we bought on a whim at the farmer’s market. It is a fortune cookie with a quote coming out of it. Is it Art? Yes, but to a greater degree the “quote” is what compels the purchase.
From social media posts, to ad campaigns, America has become “quote obsessed”. T-shirts, mugs, e-cards, pillows, and tote bags are all emblazoned with our deepest inner thoughts.
As an advertiser, coming up with a catchy tag line can be golden. The resonance of your message can create a buzz, and grass roots adoption beyond anything your ad spend could generate. Here are a few of our favorites that have caught on and been adopted.
Grab a Heiney!
The Moose is Loose!
It’s Miller Time!

Imagery Should Enhance Not Confuse the Message - Rorschach Plate II
Monday’s at The Specialist Works US are hectic days where we each wear many hats. That can get confusing. There is nothing that adds clarity like a glimpse at a Rorschach plate (or perhaps not). Here is Plate 2 in the series. What do you see?
Adding clarity to an advertising message with imagery seems to be a lost art. Conversely, adding confusion to an advertising message with imagery is a prolific concept. How much value is there in the image versus the content, and what happens when they fail to work together?
Happy Holiday it is Mother's Day
Elarbee Media wishes everyone a happy and safe Mother's Day. Check out these three iconic TV Moms for MILK. Please don't forget to call your Mom.
Cocktail Friday - Lone Star Beer #324
It is Cocktail Friday at Elarbee Media and we are back with more Lone Star Beer bottle caps. This is #324 if you get stumped and need to go to Lonestarbeer.com to find the answer.
Once again, we want to highlight how much we enjoy the engagement element of this campaign. We encourage you to engage with US by sending us the answer if you can figure it out.

Throwback Thursday - Hanes Goes Brainy
It is Throwback Thursday at Elarbee Media. We happened across this vintage Hanes ad that we just love. A woman who reads books, a woman who wears glasses, a woman who is attractive and overtly sexual, and all of this is an ad to sell product to women. It is not demeaning, but it is SEXY. The imagery is superb, and the clean background allows the content to skim the body of the image to ad interest.
If you are not a fan of redheads, this ad campaign also features a brunette version and a blond.
