    Let's Talk About Stuff.

Our goal in posting our blogs is three fold: To introduce timely industry news that is relevant to our clients; to post items we find interesting and entertaining, and finally, to give you a glimpse of TSW US “Behind the Curtain”. We take the business aspects of what we are doing very seriously, but we like to have fun, hopefully that shines through here.

Our Blog is a puzzle being assembled. Sometimes the individual pieces of the puzzle don’t look like the whole picture once completed – You have to keep adding pieces one at a time to make the image clear. We hope you keep coming back to see how the TSW US puzzle takes shape.

Wisdom Wednesday - Orson Welles on Style

10/29/2014

“Style is knowing who you are, what you want to say, and not giving a damn.” - Orson Welles

I’ve certainly been kicked in the teeth enough by now to know my own character. Sometimes I am surprised by hearing other people’s perceptions though. This is my all time favorite quote about me, Kelly Elarbee, as a business person: “Kelly, you are the most successful, completely inappropriate person that I know.” Note that being “completely inappropriate” is the named character element here. I prefer to think of myself as direct in a special Kelly way. Now I just need to sign Paul Mason as a client and I’m all good.

Art Tuesday 6 Bones for Halloween

10/28/2014
Its Art Tuesday at Elarbee Media. Here is our spooky and yet refined Halloween Week selection. It is titled the 6 of Bones. At first you don't notice the creepy sixth finger because the graphic detail of the hand itself is so stunning. It is subtle enough to elude your first glance.

What does this mean for business? Take a closer look. Things aren't always what they appear. Sometimes they are better, sometimes worse, sometimes
just not what you thought. We don't stop to test our assumptions often enough, we assume, and move forward. Always validate.

October 27th is American Beer Day!

10/27/2014
How awesome it is to have a holiday celebrating something so easy to love! As an advertising agency, Elarbee Media recognizes the contribution the Brewing industry makes to our overall health (as an industry, not our personal livers). From the tear- jerker ads with the Clydesdales, to the debate on Tastes Great vs. Less Filling they show us how branding should be done. Some beer ads are so resonant with our sense of ourselves as Americans that they appeal even to those that don’t imbibe. I’m thrilled to raise a toast to American Beer, and all that it has done for the American advertising community. Here’s to American Beer!

Wit & Wisdom Wednesday Will Rogers The Right Track

10/22/2014
“Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.” Will RogersSometimes when you hear the truth, it smacks you in the face. Hard. This quote represents to me the keen distinction between talk and action. Without action to follow through, talk is just noise. I’ve been in a lot of great conversations lately, so it will be interesting to see who follows through and who gets “run over”.

“Courage is being scared to death but saddling up anyway.” John WayneWell, doesn’t that say it all? It becomes very easy in life to fail by simply not starting. The reasons for delay are too numerous to mention. Having the courage to “saddle up”, even if you have to re-direct along the way, is the key. Go get ‘em American entrepreneurs!

Art Tuesday Sculptor Ivan Baliey

It’s Art Tuesday at Elarbee Media. We are lucky to have enough space in the office for a few pieces of sculpture among our favorite art selections. This piece is by the late Ivan Bailey of Georgia. The sculpture is of a snail crawling on an onion. It reminds me that slow growth is sustainable growth.

Wit & Wisdom Wednesday Napoleon

10/08/2014
“A leader is a dealer in hope.” Napoleon Bonaparte. While I compulsively credit the French on all thing culinary and all things wine, it is a rare day when I credit the French on business. While Napoleon may not be a strictly “business” translation, running an army, running a country and running an empire are all fairly strong skill sets, and ones that I admire as a business person. When I come across natural leaders in my business life, I am always drawn by their charisma. I also remark that they are very infrequently the people with the highest ranking title in the organization. To deal in hope, you have to start with empathy.
