Our Blog
Our goal in posting our blogs is three fold: To introduce timely industry news that is relevant to our clients; to post items we find interesting and entertaining, and finally, to give you a glimpse of TSW US “Behind the Curtain”. We take the business aspects of what we are doing very seriously, but we like to have fun, hopefully that shines through here.
Our Blog is a puzzle being assembled. Sometimes the individual pieces of the puzzle don’t look like the whole picture once completed – You have to keep adding pieces one at a time to make the image clear. We hope you keep coming back to see how the TSW US puzzle takes shape.
Cocktail Friday Lone Star Beer Bottle Cap 157
It is Cocktail Friday at Elarbee Media. As part of our continuing series on Lone Star Bottle Caps, we are offering up # 157. It is a red cap, which we all by now know designates it as a regular not a light beer.
Color coded product labels and conversation starters. We like it. Cheers Texas!
Art Tuesday Pink is the New Autumn
It is Art Tuesday at Elarbee Media and this week we are working on Canadian Media profiles, so we thought we would highlight this Autumnal maple leaf impression on tissue.
Donated to the office by Colette, Age 6, it adds cheery color on some rainy and cold days without robbing itself of the feeling of the season.
Pink is the new Autumn! On a serious note, often stepping back and viewing a problem or project through a different lens can lead to spectacular results.
Tombstones for Media RIP Bow & Arrow Hunting
R.I.P Bow & Arrow Hunting . As part of our segment Tombstones for Media, we highlight popular media that are ceasing distribution. We offer replacement suggestions that target either the same demographic, or the same geographic footprint as the publication that is being buried. Bow & Arrow Hunting will cease publication for 2016.
As a replacement option, we recommend: Eastmans' Bowhunting Journal, Bowhunting World, or Petersen's Bowhunting.

Cocktail Friday Hot Toddy
It is Cocktail Friday at Elarbee Media. To combat the incoming cold weather, and keep your throat and palate happy, we thought we would share our favorite Hot Toddy recipe.
INGREDIENTS:
2 tablespoons honey
3 fingers of bourbon
Juice from half a lemon
1 cinnamon stick
This one is served in a cork lined copper bottomed glass to keep the heat in.
Often we find that we don't have a cinnamon stick, a fresh lemon or honey. And we don't bother to heat the bourbon. It still makes us feel warm on a cold day. Cheers!
Throwback Thursday Reddi-Wip and Jello-o
It is Throwback Thursday at Elarbee Media and today we are highlighting a vintage ad for Reddi-Wip. You know it is old because it features Jell-o. We still love it! Plenty of white space, and a strong central image with red as the feature color makes this right up our alley.
We can't help but think that the ad copy translates into today's lexicon as much dicier than it was intended in the 70's. That is why reviewing old ads is so much fun.
Wit & Wisdom Wednesday - Twain on Facts
"Get your facts first, and then you can distort them as much as you please." Mark Twain
It is Wit & Wisdom Wednesday at Elarbee Media and in our minds you can't go wrong with a quote from Mark Twain, or indeed with one from Samuel Clemons. Always witty, these quotes are painfully truthful. In this week's selection we examine "facts". The value of a fact depends on what is shared, and what is withheld.
From a business perspective, due diligence and data mining have tremendous value. Sadly though, facts don't always mean what you believe they mean. Before making significant investments based on "facts" test their validity.
Art Tuesday Effervescence
It is Art Tuesday at Elarbee Media, and today's Art is by Shelly Leitheiser. When we look at this piece, we see effervescence. The bubbling up of energy and color. It suggests movement and life in Art that is only really color.
Impressions made through shape and color can dramatically impact the feeling evoked by an image. When advertisers choose the wrong colors and shapes, they are sending the wrong message before they even begin to speak about their products.
Being conscious of the impact made by both color and shape is crucial to delivering the intended message.
